H’s Room | The Reveal!

An entire bag of freshly picked blueberries dumped on the floor, huge bowl of doggy water dumped on the floor, and one order of bottomless vegetable chips later and I finally got these photos of Hudson’s room taken. Oh and did I mention the rug showed up AFTER I had just spent two hours doing what I had to re-do. Also, holy moly is it hot in Juneau today! The homes here don’t have A/C so you better believe I am sweating my butt off. But I have been way too excited to share his room with you all. Nothing was going to stop me from getting this post up.

Let me start off by saying thank you a million times to all of the shops that are a part of this project. It has been so fun for me to design the room Hudson should have had from the beginning. We moved to Alaska two weeks after he was born so nesting was pretty non-existent for me. But here we are! My goal for this room was to step out of my comfort zone and give H a room full of shapes, colors (okay maybe not all the colors but close enough) and letters for his growing brain. I typically stay on the minimal, white and neutral side of things so this was a bit busy for me. Anyways, I hope you all love it as much as we do! Please enjoy the photos and keep scrolling towards the bottom for more information on the products used and a little coupon surprise.

And now I can let out a big sigh of relief. You should have seen my face when I opened the door to find the West Elm rug. I had been waiting for it since June 27th and I was honestly convinced it would never show up. The world was definitely on my side yesterday even if it did wait until the very last minute. I am so happy with the way everything turned out! This room kept me… and my husband (thanks babe!) busy for a couple of months which was perfect for all of those rainy days we had. But poor Lock had to deal with me wanting to change the position of the frames and shelves every few days. I’ve always enjoyed anything that required creative design but never knew how much I loved interior design. Please stick around to read more about these beautiful shops and keep an eye out for a special gift just for you!

Babyletto – If you read my phase one blog post you know a little bit about our crib. Babyletto has some adorable furniture for any style nursery and I am so honored to have partnered with them for H’s room. We’ve had this bed for almost two months now and have zero complaints. I put it together by myself in about 30 mins while Hudson sat patiently in his highchair watching my every move. If you haven’t checked this company out I highly recommend you change that!

Chasing Paper – So much love for this triangle wallpaper. I loved the triangles then and I’m even more obsessed with them now. I also talked about Chasing Paper in my phase one blog post right after my husband and I put it up. Easier than easy! It took us just about an hour to hang 10 sheets, no babies allowed. Jk! Hudson helped a little but mostly enjoyed playtime with grandpa while we did all the work. Now please excuse me while I go hunt for my next wallpaper project.

Tnee’s Tpees – It took me a while to find a teepee I actually liked which made it really frustrating because I had to order them online and dealing with shipping is a pain. But then I stumbled across Tnee’s Tpees and knew I had found a winner. They just launched a new lock system so the teepee won’t collapse even when you move it. The design and materials are way better than any other I’ve seen. Hudson doesn’t quite get the fun factor yet (he just wants to push it around) but he’s getting there. I caught him laughing hysterically while playing with our dog luna inside it earlier today. And tomorrow I bet I’ll catch them curled up taking a nap.

Ohhio – I’m sure you all have seen those chunky wool blankets on the internet by now. I’ve had my eye on them for a lonnng time. For those of you gasping at the price (I did too at first), the type of wool alone is very close to the cost of a blanket. Thanks to the team over at Ohhio my life is now complete and let me tell you, the price is worth it! I am counting down the days until winter and dreaming about all of the snowy nights we will spend cuddled up in that big blanket. They are currently 30% OFF right now but hurry because the sale ends tomorrow!

Design Life Kids – I am a sucker for wooden toys and those light boxes are perfect for just about any room in the house so I was super excited to include Design Life Kids in H’s room. If you haven’t browsed through their shop, you’re missing out! They carry all of the best brands from all over the world making your dreams come true when you love Australian and European designed products as much as me. The adventure rug also came from DLK but these are so popular you really have to order them the day they re-stock otherwise good luck! Hudson is just starting to have so much fun driving little toy cars around all over the house with his hands it’s only a matter of time before that rug becomes a fave.

Ooh Noo – Can we talk about how beautiful Ooh Noo’s shop is? I fell in love with everything it was nearly impossible to choose what to get for Hudson’s room. The wood & white alphabet blocks are my favorite though! Hudson loves watching me stack them (sometimes he helps) and then without any hesitation knocks them over and gives me this look like “well, are you gonna build them back up or what?” Definitely worth your time to check out their toys and bedding!

Homely Creatures – All the heart eyes for Homely Creatures. They make the most adorable little pillows/cushions I have ever seen. They also sell some really great little furnishing, toys, and decor. I actually DIYed that felt bunting piece next to his dresser based on a product they sell because I ran out of time to order it. Definitely not as good as theirs but I was proud of myself for doing such a good job. I’m not the best DIYer haha! I swear, I need to move to Australia because they make the best everything. Their eye for design over there is right on.

Mini Learners – I have never been one to hang artwork in my room or home. Mainly because they were always rentals and it didn’t feel like it should be a priority. But man does it make a difference. These prints from Mini Learners brought Hudson’s room to life! Check them out for several more options. And stay tuned for a giveaway in the next couple of days 😉

Gathre – I have nothing but good things to say about Gathre. We recently discovered them when we got our Midi Mat and haven’t left the house without it. So now, instead of using a changing table we use their Micro Mat as our changing pad on the floor. I actually think I need to upgrade to their Mini Mat because H is getting so big but for now the micro works great. I don’t even remember the last time we used a changing table. The second Hudson was able to roll it was game over. I was always so scared he would fall off even with me right there because he’s so squirmy. This just seems like the safest way and if we have a little accident the Gathre mat makes it super easy to clean up.

Pehr Designs – If you read my blog post for Little Adi + Co you’ll remember how hard it has been for me to stay on top of keeping things clean and organized. Thanks to Pehr Designs though I can store all of Hudson’s things while adding style to the room. And when you’re done using them or if you’re moving they fold down flat and hardly take up any extra space. Check out their site for all different designs and sizes!

Sarah & Bendrix Kids – Like I said before, I’m a sucker for wooden toys. Hudson is way too fascinated by my phone and the remote (I know all kids are) and he throws the biggest screaming feat stomping tantrum when I take them away so I always try to distract him with wooden toys. There’s something so simple and innocent about them. I know it’s inevitable for Hudson to get into technology but for now I hope to encourage playtime with these gorgeous toys from Sarah & Bendrix Kids.

Wild Winnie – I can’t seem to get away from wool. I looooooove it so much. The wool mobile hanging above H’s shelf is actually from an Instagram friend of mine Olivia (@livyfreeborn). You can find her Wild Winnie shop on Etsy or on Instagram as @wildwinnie_

Sonoran Supply Co. – Did you see that beautiful mudcloth pillow in the teepee? It’s from Sonoran Supply Co. We were thankfully connected through an awesome app called Collabor8. They also sell blankets, keychains and hand painted pots!

Gray Bay Goods – This is a Sarasota (my hometown) based company and was introduced to me by my best friend Ashley. I am so in love with the wooden flag string I have under Hudsons window but that is far from what Tara is capable of. She is sooooooo good with wood! Check out her Instagram for more.

My husband built the dresser, frames and shelves. We loved being creative together so much we decided to start our own wood shop so stay tuned for that!

This room is so well curated and beautifully put together. Hudson will enjoy the neutral tones well into his teen years. Enjoy all the precious moment and memories you will create in this space!

Hi there, who makes the hanging book shelf and the hanging shelf holding the clothes and blanket?

    Thanks!

      Hi Adrienne,
I apologize for the delayed response. My husband made both shelves 🙂 We plan to sell them in the future so stay tuned!

Totally in love with this room! Love all the products! <3
How big is the triangle on the wall paper? Though about it to do the same with a black mark.

      Hi Tessa,
Hard to explain how big they are haha. Maybe 3 inches from top to bottom. Hope that helps!

So in love with this room! Using it as inspiration for our second little boy’s nursery 🙂 What paint colour did you go with for the room? Finding the perfect shade of white or off-white is surprisingly challenging! Thank you!

      Hi Kristen,

Thank you so much! Unfortunately I don’t know the paint color as we are renting and the walls were already painted this color. And the wall with the triangles is wallpaper.
